CMT Music Awards 2012 Winners

CMT Music Awards digelar hari ini di Bridgestone Arena, Nashville dan bisa disaksikan secara online via live streaming di www.cmt.com/cmt-music-awards/ dengan host country superstar Toby Keith dan aktris Kristen Bell. Penghargaan tahunan dengan sistem fans voting di official website CMT berakhir 4 Juni lalu, sementara untuk nominasi kategori Video of the Year diumumkan pada saat mulai acara penghargaan dan fans voting dibuka selama berlangsungnya acara.

Tahun ini Carrie Underwood berhasil menyabet Video Music of the Year melalui video music Good Girl dan mengalahkan saingannya seperti Blake Shelton, Taylor Swift, Toby Keith dan Jason Aldean. Selain Video of the Year, Carrie Underwood juga berhasil memenangkan Collaborative Video of the Year untuk lagu Rescue Me kolaborasinya bersama Brad Paisley. Luke Brian menyabet Male Video untuk lagu I Don’t Want This Night to End sementara country sweet heart Miranda Lambert untuk Female Video dalam lagu Over You. We Owned the Night milik Lady Antebellum menyabet Group Video of the Year dan tiga tahun berturut-turut Lady Antebellum memenangkan kategori ini. Jawara American Idol season 10, Scotty McCreery memenangkan kategori USA Breakthrough Video of the Year, penghargaan diserahkan oleh The Band Perry sebagai pemenang tahun lalu.

CMT Music Awards tahun ini dimeriahkan dengan penampilan dari Lady Antebellum membuka acara dengan lagu Tonight, Tonight/We Owned the Night, Luke Brian (Drunk on You), Pistol Annies (Takin’ Pills), The Band Perry (Postcard from Paris), Zac Brown Band (The Wind), Carrie Underwood (Good Girl) dan banyak lagi.
