Academy Awards 2012 Winners

The Artist Raih The Best Picture

Ajang penghargaan tahunan insan perfilman paling bergengsi digelar di Hollywood and Highland Center, California hari ini Senin waktu Indonesia (Minggu waktu setempat) dengan host komedian Billy Christal disiarkan ABC channel. Di Indonesia kita bisa menyaksikan siarang langsung yang ditayangkan di Fox Movies Premium/Starmovies Asia tadi pagi mulai jam 7 dan siaran ulang jam 7 malam.

Silent movie The Artist dan film keluarga 3D Hugo masing-masing berhasil memenangkan lima kategori, namun The Artist lebih unggul karena memenangkan tiga main category untuk Best Picture, Best Director (Michel Hazanavicius) dan Best Actor (Jean Dujardin) yang menjadi aktor Prancis pertama yang memenangkan kategori ini. Sementara Hugo memenangkan di antaranya Best Sound Mixing, Best Sound Editing dan Best Cinematography.

Aktris kawakan Meryl Streep berhasil memenangkan Best Actress untuk perannya sebagai Margaret Thatcher dalam film The Iron Lady setelah terakhir kali memenangkan kategori ini tahun 1982 dalam film Sophie’s Choice. Sementara untuk Best Supporting Actor diraih oleh Christopher Plummer (Beginners) menjadi aktor tertua peraih piala Oscar dan Best Supporting Actress diraih Octavia Spencer (The Help). Film asal Iran A Separation berhasil memenangkan Best Foreign Language. The Descendants membawa pulang satu piala Oscar untuk kategori Best Adapted Screenplay. Sementara film War Horse dan Moneyball masing-masing mendapatkan enam nominasi tak berhasil membawa pulang satu Oscar pun.

Tampil sebagai presenter tahun ini di antaranya Natalie Portman, Morgan Freeman, Emma Stone, Ben Stiller, Tina Fey, Christian Bale, Bridesmaids casts, Tom Cruise, Penelope Cruz, Owen Wilson, Colin Firth, Sandra Bullock dan lainnya.

Yang paling menarik dan sayang untuk dilewatkan tentu saja the opening montage yang mengundang tawa merupakan cuplikan dari film-film yang masuk nominasi di antara The Artist, The Descendants, The Help, Bridesmaids, Midnight in Paris, The Adventures of Tintin hingga Mission: Impossible The Ghost Protocol dengan cameo Sammy Davis Jr. dan Justin Bieber. Penyanyi Esperanza Spalding tampil memukau membawakan lagu What a Wondeful World untuk In Memoriam tribute para bintang dan tokoh yang meninggal dunia selama 2011-2012 termasuk Whitney Houston, Elizabeth Taylor hingga Steve Jobs.

Golden Globe 2012 Winners

Pengumuman para pemenang ajang penghargaan tahunan Golden Globe ke 69 digelar hari ini di Beverly Hilton Hotel, California dengan host Ricky Gervais. Untuk kategori Motion Picture, film The Artist berhasil memenangkan tiga kategori untuk Best Motion Picture-Musical Comedy, Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture dan Best Original Score.

George Clooney (The Descendants) dan Mery Streep (The Iron Lady) memenangkan penghargaan masing-masing untuk kategori Best Performance by an Actor / Actress in a Motion Picture-Drama. Kategorui Best Performance by an Actor / Actress in a Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy dimenangkan oleh Jean Dujardin (The Artist) dan Michelle Williams (My Week with Marilyn). 
 
Madonna memenangkan kategori Best Original Song lewat lagu Masterpiece OST W.E. Kategori Best Foreign Language film dimenangkan film asal Iran – A Separation, mengalahkan film Belgia The Kid with a Bike dan film The Skin I Live In asal Spain.

Untuk kategori Televisi, serial thriller/drama Homeland memenangkan Best TV Series-Drama dan serial komedi Modern Family memenangkan Best TV Series-Comedy Musical. Kategori Best Performance by an Actor / Actress in TV Series-Drama, masing-masing dimenangkan Kelsey Grammer dan Claire Danes. 
Penghargaan khusus Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Achievement award dianugerahkan kepada Morgan Freeman (74 tahun).

Golden Globe 2012 Nominations

The Artist Raih Nominasi Terbanyak

Setelah kemarin SAG mengumumkan nominasi, hari ini penghargaan tahunan Golden Globe mulai mengumumkan peraih nominasi yang dibacakan oleh Sofia Vergara, Gerard Butler, Woody Harrelson dan Rashida Jones. Golden Globe biasanya menjadi indikator kuat Academy Awards, film maupun aktor yang berjaya di ajang ini biasanya juga sukses di piala Oscar. Namun tak seperti Academy Awards yang hanya memberikan penghargaan khusus film layar lebar, Golden Globe juga membagikan penghargaan untuk televisi berdasarkan voting oleh Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).

Untuk tahun ini kategori film layar lebar, film The Artist memimpin perolehan nominasi dengan total enam nominasi. The Descendants dan The Help menyusul dengan lima nominasi. Sementara film komedi yang banyak mendapat pujian tahun ini Bridesmaids dan drama komedi 50/50, The Girl with the Dragon Tatto dan War Horse masing-masing mendapatkan dua nominasi.

Untuk kategori Best Actor (Drama), Michael Fassbender akan bersaing nama-nama yang sudah banyak diduga, George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling dan Brad Pitt. Ryan Gosling tahun ini berhasil mendapatkan dua nominasi, selain Best Actor in Drama (The Ides of March), juga berhasil mendapatkan nominasi Best Actor in Comedy/Musical (Crazy, Stupid, Love) akan bersaing dengan aktor muda Joseph Gordon-Levitt (50/50), dan Owen Wilson (Midnight in Paris). Sementara untuk Best Actress (Drama), aktris muda berbakat Rooney Mara akan bersaing dengan Glen Close, Viola Davis, Merryl Streep dan Tilda Swinton. Komedian Kristin Wiig (Bridesmaids) bersaing dengan Kate Winslet dan Jodie Foster (Carnage) dalam kategori Best Actress Musical/Comedy.

Untuk kategori televisi, British serial Downton Abbey dan Mildred Pierce memimpin dengan empat nominasi. Menyusul tiga nominasi diraih oleh serial Modern Family, Broadwalk Empire, Cinema Verite, The Hour dan Homeland. Serial-serial baru seperti American Horror Story, Boss, Enlightened, Episodes, Games of Thrones dan New Girl masing-masing berhasil mendapatkan dua nominasi. Kegagalan bagi serial musical drama komedi Glee yang tahun lalu berjaya dengan lima nominasi, tahun ini hanya berhasil mendapatkan satu nominasi untuk kategori Best Television Series – Musical/Comedy.

Salah satu kategori menarik Best Original Song, akan bersaing Masterpiece by Madonna (W.E), The Living Proof by Mary J. Blige (The Help) dan Hello-Hello by Elton John feat. Lady Gaga (Gnomeo & Juliet). Tahun ini penghargaan khusus Golden Globe Cecil B.DeMill dianugrahkan kepada Morgan Freeman (74 tahun) for lifetime achievement.

Perhelatan Golden Globe akan berlangsung di Beverly Hilton Hotel, California 15 Januari 2012 disiarkan langsung oleh NBC dengan host Ricky Gervais, tahun ini merupakan tiga tahun berturut-turut British komedian ini menjadi host Golden Globe. Berikut daftar lengkap nominasi Golden Globe 2012.
