Billboard Menobatkan Adele Sebagai Top Artist 2011

Tahun 2011 rasanya menjadi milik Adele penyanyi asal Inggris 23 tahun berkat kesuksesan sophomore albumnya 21 yang resmi dirilis 24 Januari 2011 di UK dan 22 Februari di US berhasil menjadi best selling album 2011 terjual sekitar 5 juta copy hanya di US dan lebih dari 12 juta copy di seluruh dunia, membuat Billboard tak ragu untuk menobatkan Adele sebagai Top Artist 2011. Single andalan album ini, Rolling In The Deep juga menjadi lagu paling populer tahun ini berhasil merajai berbagai chart di berbagai negara. Dikutip dari billboard.com, menganggapi kesuksesan yang diraihnya Adele mengungkapkan “When it comes to staying myself -- my career isn't my life, it doesn't come home with me. So it's a piece of piss staying grounded and not being changed by it. The same things I've always liked still satisfy me.”

Sebagai informasi, Adele juga berhasil memperoleh enam nominasi Grammy Awards yang diumumkan 1 Desember lalu di antaranya untuk kategori record of the year, album of the year dan song of the year. Congratulations, Adele.

American Music Awards 2011 – Winners

Setelah berjaya di ajang penghargaan CMA Awards awal November ini, penyanyi country Taylor Swift kembali berjaya, kali ini di ajang American Music Awards 2011 yang diselenggarakan hari ini di Nokia Theater, Los Angeles. 

Taylor Swift berhasil memenangkan tiga kategori untuk Female Country Artist, Favorite Country Album Speak Now dan Artist of the Year. Sementara Adele yang sebelumnya memimpin dengan empat nominasi harus puas mendapatkan dua kategori untuk Pop/Rock Female Artist dan Adult Contemporary Artist. Maroon 5 berhasil memenangkan kategori Favorite Pop Rock Band. Lady Gaga kali gagal membawa pulang satu penghargaan pun meski sebelumnya mendapatkan tiga nominasi.

American Music Awards 2011 dimeriahkan oleh penampilan mulai dari The Band Perry, Justin Bieber, Chris Brown, Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5 feat. Christina Aguilera, OneRepublic, Katy Perry, Will I Am feat. Jennifer Lopez serta LMFAO menutup ajang AMA dengan medley Party Rock Anthem dan Sexy and I Know It. Pemilihan pemenang AMA berdasarkan online voting yang digelar mulai 11 October hingga 11 November di ABC.com. Berikut daftar pemenang AMA 2011. American Music Awards 2011 – Nominees

American Music Awards mengumumkan para peraih nominasi yang dibacakan oleh Nicki Minaj dan Pitbull. Adele memimpin dengan empat nominasi di antaranya kategori Artist of the Year, Favourite Female Artist (pop or rock music), Pop or Rock Album, serta Adult Contemporary Music. Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Rihanna, Taylor Swift dan Lil Wayne menyusul masing-masing dengan tiga nominasi. Sementara Bruno Mars, Beyonce, Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj dan The Band Perry mendapat dua nominasi.

Pengumuman pemenang akan diselenggarakan di Nokia Theater, Los Angeles 2o November mendatang. Tahun ini 18 category dibagikan dan seperti tahun-tahun sebelumnya para pemenang ditentukan berdasarkan online voting di ABC.com yang akan ditutup 11 November 2011.

MTV EMA 2011 Nominees

Ajang penghargaan MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 baru saja mengumumkan para peraih nominasi. Untuk tahun ini penghargaan bagi para pemenang akan diselenggarakan di Odyssey Arena, Belfast Irlandia 6 Nopember mendatang.

Dari 13 kategori yang diperebutkan, Lady Gaga memimpin perolehan nominasi dengan mengumpulkan total 6 nominasi termasuk  Best Song untuk lagu Born This Way, Best Pop, Best Female dan Best Video. Bruno Mars dan Katy Perry masing-masing mendapatkan 4 nominasi, untuk Bruno Mars meliputi kategori Best Male, Best New, Best Push dan Best Song untuk lagu Grenade, sementara Katy Perry berjaya di kategori Best Female, Best Live, Best Pop dan Best Song untuk lagu Firework. Katy Perry Raih Video of The Year

 

MTV Video Music Awards 2011 digelar hari ini 29 Agustus (atau Minggu, 28 Agustus waktu LA) di Nokia Theater Los Angeles, California. Katy Perry memimpin dengan sepuluh nominasi ‘hanya’ berhasil mendapatkan tiga kategori diantaranya kategori paling bergengsi Video of the Year untuk video music Firework dan E.T. kolaborasinya dengan Kanye West yang memenangkan kategori Best Collaboration dan Best Special Effect. Sementara Adele memenangkan empat penghargaan untuk teknikal kategori Best Direction, Best Art Direction, Best Cinemathography dan Best Editing untuk video music Rolling in the Deep. Lady Gaga mendapat dua penghargaan video music Born This Way kategori Best Female Video dan Best Video Music with a Message. Untuk kategori Best New Artist dimenangkan oleh Tyler, The Creator dalam video music Yonkers.

 

Seperti yang diberitakan sebelumnya Lady Gaga mendapat kehormatan untuk membuka acara MTV VMA 2011, tampil menjadi alter egonya, Joe Calderone bersama gitaris Queen Brian May membawakan single barunya You and I. Jay-Z berkolaborasi dengan Kanye West membawakan single Otis sementara Adele tampil dengan lagu Someone Like You. Tampil sebagai performer di MTV VMA kali ini Beyonce, Chris Brown, Young the Giant, Lil Wayne dan Bruno Mars yang tampil memukau membawakan lagu Valerie tribute untuk Amy Winehouse.
